By day, I'm a domestic violence prosecutor. By night, I read romance to restore my faith in love, relationships, and humanity in general.
This is hands down the best novella I've ever read. It packs so much romance and pathos and emotion and story into a just a few gorgeously-written, tightly-edited chapters. The characters are real and relatable and so, so honest, you fall in love with them as they fall in love with each other. Plus, the sex is smoking hawt. My only complaint about this novella is that it *is* a novella, which means the ending comes much too soon.
