By day, I'm a domestic violence prosecutor. By night, I read romance to restore my faith in love, relationships, and humanity in general.
I didn't like this nearly as well as Exclusively Yours, the first in the Kowalski series. Like that book, this is a hero-in-pursuit story, but not nearly as well executed. Upon learning Beth conceived his child during their one night stand, Kevin is determined to step up and take care of her and his baby. Beth is skittish, though, having been smothered by her parents because she is an only child. I never really warmed up to Beth: she was prickly and commitment-phobic for reasons that didn't really ring true, and I was tired of her excuses for why she couldn't let herself be with Kevin long before she gave up her resistance. But, it was fun to spend more time with the Kowalski family, and I love believable books set in northern New England.
