By day, I'm a domestic violence prosecutor. By night, I read romance to restore my faith in love, relationships, and humanity in general.

Better Than the Rest of the Wallflower Series (which isn't saying much)

Devil in Winter - Lisa Kleypas

I liked this book more than the previous two in the Wallflowers series, probably because the couple both have such dramatic character arcs. Sebastian is truly an ass at the start of this book, but redeems himself in a way that is entertaining if not particularly original. Evie transforms from a timid, stuttering mouse to a strong, stubborn woman. And this book introduces Cam Rohan of the Hathaways series (which I love so much more than the Wallflowers), though it pisses me off that in this book he's always described as 'the boy' though we're told he's twenty-five. That seems racist to me (given his Romany heritage), like calling black people "boy" even when they are fully grown men.
